LED lighting has several advantages over traditional fluorescents bulbs. LED bulbs have an estimated life span of twenty years or more and use typically only 5% of the electricity of the regular glass bulb. LED light bulbs do not cause heat buildup compared to the traditional light bulbs, which are a very inefficient use of energy, especially when you are required to use even more electrical energy to remove this excess heat by running your air condition. A regular light bulb is usually made with a very thin glass envelope with a delicate, easily damaged filament dangling inside. The glass can easily break or detach from the base as you screw it into or out of the socket. Therefore, LED bulbs are much safer, as they are built stronger.
For commercial use, an advantage for using LED lights is minimized maintenance and replacement costs, in addition to reduced energy costs. Fortunately, prices for LED bulbs have already fallen considerably as they have become more common in the market place. Just the energy cost savings alone that can be achieved by switching out some of your standard lamps can make it well worth trying them out.

Incentives for Solar Energy Systems in SW Florida
For residential and commercial properties, a 30% tax credit is available. A firm or taxpayer may claim a credit of 30% for a solar energy system that is placed into services after January 1, 2008 and before December 31, 2016. The home served by the system does not have to be the taxpayer's primary residence. The 30% is based on the total installed price. If the federal credit exceeds tax liability, the excess amount may be carried forward to the succeeding taxable year, until 2016; however, it is unclear whether the unused tax credit can be carried forward after 2016. For homeowners who finance their solar system, they may be able to deduct the interest paid. Please consult your tax professional and click below for more information.
